Aspectos socioculturales: Theme parks

Looking for a ride? Anxious to experience high speed?... Well, Spain is a little bit late regarding theme parks. We have very little tradition in this kind of industry and in Andalucía there is just one: Isla Mágica in Seville. It concentrates on the Discovery of America. It is not open all year round but right now they are celebrating Halloween and there will be also a Christmas special celebration. After that the park will close until spring. If you feel like going avoid hot months, it is unbeareable!!
Apart from that there are some parks (no rides here) worthwhile mentioning in Málaga. We can highlight Selwo Aventura in Estepona if you like animals in open spaces, SeaLife in Benalmádena if you are into sea animals and environs, and Selwo Marina also in Benalmádena and related to water life.

Outside Andalucia we have to mention Warner Bros. Park in Madrid, Terra Mítica in Benidorm (Alicante) and Port Aventura in Tarragona. Port Aventura is the most visited one in Spain and it is in the place where Disneyland Europe was to be built but in the end they opted for Paris as the final location...pity!!. All of them are in the red as people don't visit them again and again. Well, Disneyland Paris is in the red too!!
