PARTY TIME

Carnival is just around the corner and many places in Spain are getting ready for party time. This is especially so in Cádiz where Carnival is a big thing, most probably the biggest festive time in the city.

Cádiz Carnival is not famous for great parades or fancy customes (unlike the one in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands) but for the lyrics of the typical songs full of wit, puns, current issues, double meaning, etc.

If you can, go to Cádiz for a couple of days and enjoy this Carnival in the street. Once the official contest is over, the groups sweep the city centre with their music and songs.

In Huelva there are also good places for Carnival in Huelva province. For example, in the capital we have Carnaval Colombino (13-17 February) and then there are some towns like Isla Cristina, Punta Umbría and Ayamonte with a long tradition and people are really into it. So if you can't afford going to Cádiz, try something local, you won't be disappointed!!
